Hi ,
if column type is FLOAT , you use "Microsoft odbc driver for oracle" (version 2.0)
if column type is NUMBER, you use "Oracle ODBC Driver" (any version)
if you have problem always, then you download data without SUM() and run SQL with SUM() over remote view cursor.
