Nobody responded. Does that mean that no one else was able to duplicate this behavior, or that no one tried it? I know my post was a bit long-winded, but I'd really appreciate it if someone can take a minute and try this.

Thanks,
Al

>I think I found a bug in the VFP combobox control and am wondering if someone else can confirm this buggy behavior (or, if its already been reported and better yet, if there is a work around, please point me in the right direction) The bug occurs when the combobox has 504 or more rows in it. But is more noticeable with, say 520+ rows.

>When there are 503 or fewer rows in the combobox and you drop the list by clicking on the little down arrow, moving the mouse pointer over the dropped list (without clicking or scrolling) highlights the item that is directly beneath the mouse pointer.) Moving the mouse highlights the appropriate item.

>But, when there are 520+ rows in the combobox, things go bad fast. when you drop the list like before, now hovering the mouse over the list does not highlight the selected items - UNLESS (and this is strange) the first item is currently selected or no item is currently selected. That is, in order to see the odd behavior, select the 2nd item in the list before trying this out.
>
>Before you say "big deal, so it doesn't highlight the row..." Wait. I haven't told you the real problem yet - it gets much worse. Not only is the item NOT selected by hovering the mouse over it, when you click on the nth list item, items 1 thru n+1 all shift up 1 position and the item that gets highlighted was the n+1 item, not the nth item! In otherwords, you click on an item and it changes right under your nose (or in this case, your mouse) to the item that was right after the one you wanted! And, since the n+2 items did not shift, as you hold the mouse button down (in a sort of suspended click), it appears that there is a duplicate.. the n+1 item that is now highlighted and the n+2 item.

>PS. Don't bash me for having 500+ rows in a combobox :)
