mmm....you really don't want to use the wizard...perhaps you mean the view-designer?
Anyway in the view designer when it goes under "filter" it's not really using the filter command...there is a way you can see the SQL statement that's being created. There is a little toolbar that comes up with the view designer..click on the button that says SQL and you'll see the code...
and yes the joins should work better...again try not to use the view wizard..use the designer (or better yet make them in code) ... also there is a download avail here called "EVIEW" that is REALLY REALLY good for this type of thing.
