Yes, and no offense, but that's not the point here - *I* don't always like what *Excel* likes as an autofit (same with vfp autofits, to be fair). With very many columns with wide-autofit, it can make user have to do lots of horizontal scrolling (ugh!). So, I always customize my grids and Excel columns visually (for any fixed-field exports, that is), often sizing them smaller than autofit, so more columns will be displayed without any scrolling. The user can widen them as they choose, later.
