I have replaced SQL-VB solutions with VFP and DBF's - and VFP SQL solutions with DBF servces. The reason they called was that the hour glass seemed to dominate their desktop. I also have a solution, in VFP 5, thats been running for 5 years. I have never had a call about re-indexing(in fact they never call - except once to years ago for some enhamcements - and they piund this app every day.

A DBA should not be confused with a VFP developer. A DBA should not be writing VFP programs - they should maintain the database. DBA's confusing themselves with application development and SQL style writing in VFP could be one reason VFP has had image problems. The nice thing about being a DBA is the Microsoft sponsored buffets - the bad thing is the hour glass that never leaves and their problems in understanding how to take advantage of VFP's excellent (and still the fastest in the world) native database and file management system.

So there!:-)
