This is an interesting point. We have clients that say: "Please, bill us for another year with the same credit card we use the other time.". For us, we don't keep anything nor do we ever have access to the full credit card information as we allow the client to use a secure link directly with the bank without storing anything here. So, the card ID only exists from the time the client enters it on the form and submits it. We don't keep anything in our local data as we only need the result from the bank and that is good enough for us. So, we want to make it more secure for our clients. I understand this wouldn't be possible for auto billing within a small period of time such as micro payment and such. But, in our case, we prefer it like this.
