Basically, you can do something like that today (not the same syntax, but you can). What's the big deal?

This kind of access is extremely inneficient. Much better than that, you can do something like this against SQL Server to get a Query completely resolved and have the resulset as an XML stream. This is, IMHO, a much better approach.
