Right now if I double click on any fxp, doesn't matter what version it was compiled in, it starts in VFP 8. I would like to write something a little more complicated by saying this FXP was compiled in VFP 6 so start up VFP 6.

I don't think there is any specific version of VFP information stored in the .FXP. There is in the .EXE, but not the .FXP.
