I had a similar incident like this happen to me a couple of years ago. Every time I tried to pack it would throw an exception error at a certain point during the INDEXing. It turns out I had some “garbage” characters in one of my records. What I had to do was open up the table in FoxPro and look through records until I found the offending record.
