WWhile what you say is probably correct about 'damage', I suspect it is more likely the case that such 'damage' would also prevent the REINDEX from completing in the first place. AND I do think that such 'damage' is way overplayed, probably dating back to a bug in a prior version of FPD or FPW that has stuck as other "urban myths" often do.
And REINDEX does NOT cause "bloat" EXCEPT in VFP7 SP1. In ALL other cases at least since VFP5 REINDEX REMOVES BLOAT.
