Yh,
Besides all the suggestions that you've read so far. The hardware configurations, ie. cpu speed, free disk space on workstation, network setup, hdd type, etc, of these machines also affect the speed performance.
Btw, where are you located in Malaysia?
>Hi all,
>I've a customer where they have about 40 clients (mostly win98) connected to a Win2k(SP3) domain server sharing out my app on VFP6SP5. Total database size around 200MB with the biggest table size around 20MB. Its using DHCP (No Wins) and TCPIP with Netbios enabled.
>The problem is that when I open the 20MB table from a client (Use tablename), it takes about 2 seconds for the task to be completed.
>Is there anyway to speed up the file opening process?
>Does it also mean that the process will take longer when the file grows?
>I wonder how performance (of opening a table) will be if the file size is say 1GB or 2GB.
>Thanks in advance.
