That's actually how it will work.

I'm working on security this week, so hopefully it makes the next beta in two weeks.

We haven't come to a completely final decision yet, but we're leaning towards a model where you purchase a copy of MM .NET, and get all interim versions free of charge until we come out with a new, full version that coincides with the release of a new version of .NET.
