You're right on track. Clipper PRGs needs to be compiled and linked before changes be noticed. The only Clipper version with some kind of development enviroment I know, as far as I remember, was CA-Clipper 5.3. It was a Clipper version intended to introduce the programmer to the windows development but it worked on DOS though.
