Jeff;
An interesting link about an interesting person.
Reading Burke, Hobbes, Locke, and Paine as an example, will allow you the source of insight and reference of men like Jefferson, and Franklin.
Such matters are stimulating to me and are a major reason I obtained degrees in History and Political Science, after I completed my studies in electronics engineering (called electrical engineering for the pure at heart).
One of my favorite places on the face of the earth is the Huntington Library, in San Mariano, California, a place I visit often. Many outstanding references are available for anyone who wishes to do scholarly work.
There is so much more to life than everyday existence. I have a great appreciation for the thoughts of those who have aroused our thinking. My favorite president is Jefferson, and he is also one of my favorite people to study.
We take many things for granted for many reasons. Trying to retain our existence is a full time accomplishment. It is important for me to reflect upon those writings that influenced why we became a nation. It pains me to see our land become much the way England was during the 18th century. We are forgetting our very foundations and why we are what we are.

>In case anyone would like a quick break from TechTalk, I just found a very nice article about Thomas Paine:
