>thanks gentlemen. unfortunately you've all just confirmed my nightmare. let this be a lesson to us all (especially me) not to take on projects without knowing at least something about what we're getting ourselves into!

I moved some of my old Clipper apps to, I believe it was FoxPro 2.0, years ago. The easiest way I found was just to compile the prgs in Foxpro. When errors were identified, I just did a search and replace. Most of the differences are pretty obvious.
Some differences are not obvious without the documentation. But, if you try it and have problems, you might find some help here. I don't know if I'd be any help unless I dug all my old Clipper books out from where ever they're at.:)
I do recall the Clipper to FoxPro conversion was a lot easier than FoxPro 2.6w to VFP 3.0.
