Was the suggestion for the UT to set up its own bug tracking facility, even though Microsoft has made it clear it will not replace or even supplement MS's internal bug tracking process? That would seem to have limited value if there is no linkage to bug fixes or official bug status. It might even be counterproductive if people just post bugs here and think that means Microsoft will see them. Ken makes it clear he would not guarantee that.
Yes, the suggestion was for the UT to set up it's on bug tracking facility. There is some amount of delay between when a bug is submitted to MS and when it is confirmed and added to the knowledge base. Walter Meester posted a message today about a bug that was been confirmed in a follow-up post by someone at MS.
Also, there have apparently been some unpleasant experiences when members of the UT reported bugs to MS. So, as possible bugs come up, especially with VFP8, user on the UT can add to the list and others can comment on them.
