>When I reed your answers(to all community), they are the same as Venelina gave me in our disputes.
Forgive my ignorance, but who is Venelina?
>I have clients with 50 PC networks, which IT managers nobody can persuade to spent $5000 for SQLServer.
Do all 50 PC's use your VFP application? If so, that's 50 machines where someone might open your DBFs with Excel and have a field day, or they might delete the DBF files, or they might burn those files to a CD, or they might... the security issues faced by the typical VFP application are well known.
>Their answer is your VFP application works pretty well without SQLServer.
I'm not saying that VFP/DBF applications don't work pretty well. All I'm advocating is that VFP developers take a serious look at SQL Server and the numerous benefits it has over the native DBF file structure. Am I ever going back to using DBFs? No way...
