Dave,
When you run the ASPvote install, it attempts to give the proper data access rights to the data directory and each data file to IUSR_yourmachine and IWAM_yourmachine accounts. My guess is that you might be running multiple sites or something and it therefore didn't give the data the proper rights. You can go into that data directory and manually give those files the proper read and write rights.
Go to the \dotComSolution\Data\ASPvote directory, right click it, go to Properties/Security and give your anonymous users (in my case IUSR and IWAM) Read & Execute, Read, and Write rights. Do the same for each file in that directory. The setup should have done this already, but like I said, I don't think that process worked in your case.
This is a free product now - enjoy and let me know if you have any more problems. Also make sure to read the tips page at:

It talks about purchasing in your documentation but there is no cost or purchase process on the dotcomsolutions.com web site. Can you help? I am an ISP who is currently running Web Connect applications and am looking for a good survery application to use on several of my customer sites. Is this a good fit for me?
