Depends...
If the formset is a converted FPW-form, most of the action
is in the formset: either save the form as class
or create a new form and copy all of the formset-forms controls after marking the in one action.
Then walk up to the formset and get the few PEM's.

HAcking the VCX could be automated: AFAIR you only have to fix the parent(s)
and delete the offending containers.
Be warned, that FPW style show won't always work afterwards,
if you are coming from that direction.
