Hi Cetin,

It's the system bar. I understand how to handle it ... when it's my turn to play so to speak. I'm wondering how to handle it when the system "uses" it, in fact I'd like to set a "default value" for it in a way. I could manage is with the release method of the form(base), but frankly again, it looks like some kind of overkill.

I guess I'm wanting something that simply is not there.

Thanks anyway.

Kind regards,

Marc

It's a concatenation string of all kinds of settings like version, data directory etc. I managed to show it when no form is active, by restoring the info when the (base)form is released, but as long as a form is active, the statusbar is abysmally empty or displaying things I do not want it to display.

>oStatBar.Panels(1).Text = 'blah blah'

>set message to ....
>And even to keep it empty (suppress displayin table/rec etc) you explicitly set it. ie:
>Set message to ''

If things have the tendency to go your way, do not worry. It won't last. Jules Renard.
