>I have set up a few peer to peer networks of this size and larger, I normally use a 10/100 hub, each PC on tcp/ip having a fixed ip address - all PCs set with same workgroup name - I set up the workstation/acting server with an apps, install and home directories all shared etc. I create a user on each pc and replicate them all on the acting server (you can set permissions in the shares for home directories etc) - map the drives with the net use command (net use i: \\servername\install) and it all works well.

>I ran into a problem last night that really puzzled me! I was setting up a network as I have described above except I was using a 10/100 switch. All PCs involved were on Win 2k Profesional - I couldn't get anything when browsing through my network places, just the message "Workgroupname not accessible etc" - I installed netbeui out of desparation and bingo! All appear OK. I had checked everything, all PCs were in the same ip range, same subnet etc...
