I use SDT to manage my dbc and tables. If you set up the framework to permit SDT functioning, as per the developer's guide, everything works great on the computer that contains the data tables and meta data. However, I receive an "Error Loading Component" error on work stations. I believe this is happening because I set the Stonefield.cMetaDataDir property to the directory that contains the Stonefield metadata to “Data\” ( the default). This is ok on the data server but not on the work station.

Can cMetaData be set to a more generic path to the data so that cMetaData will be machine specific interms of the machine's mapping to the data.

And.... Do I really want all of my work stations to have SDT control of the data source anyway? Is there a way to shut down the database utitlies all together on specific computers. I don't feel it is a simple user privilage issue alone. That would be easy. In that case, I just would not grant access to the database utilities form to certian users. However, I feel it is a machine specific issue first then user.
