I am familiar w/ GNU license and others. I'm from the Open Source community. I don't expect him to make it free, or Open Source it. But an open exchange information is what community is all about.

I'm not talking about putting UT out of business. There are plenty of open source models out there that still make money. I'm NOT suggesting he open up the site to Searching etc, but what is the point of having a webservice that isn't useful.

I just didn't think this was a Microsoft mentality where everything comes down to the DOLLAR. I thought community had a higher moral standard then that, and it was about the knowledge. The free exchange of ideas and learning about solutions to difficult problems, a true community where knowledge and information is the most important thing and money isn't.

Like I said, it must be my fault, I misintrepreted the community and made the mistake of thinking it had a little of the altruistic nature of open source community.
