My only point is that if he is going to act like this is a community open to the public, and create a web service then make it usable. That is the point I was trying to make from the beginning.

I don't have a problem with him using UT to pay for itself, and him make some money for his time. But opening up a webservice for messages won't destroy the site.

If he doesn't want to, then he should just close the Webservices to PUTM members only. And don't think he gives access to the site for non-PUTM out of the kindness of his heart, it is about recruiting more paying members. So it isn't a community effort for the community, it is a "community" effort for the owner.
