So you can say without a doubt that he would go out of business if he opened up that ONE method on the webservice. Yeah.. Slashdot really went out of business when they started creating RSSs for their headlines etc. It increased their readership, and they were syndicated other sites drove back traffic to theirs. I have worked w/ RDF, RSS and headline parsing for the last few years and I have seen the benefits of distributing information.

MF would probably get more traffic, if he opened it up to ppl, at least the headlines, not the entire message if we wants more control.

>Non-paying members would start using the WS to develop their own searchable local database, bypassing the message search restriction. He's set his policies reasonably and intelligently, with an intent of keeping the community alive.

If someone is going to do that to save $75 bucks, go to town. They will find another way around it. I don't think anyone would go to the trouble of developing their own local searchable database, just to save $75 bucks. Give me a break.

I'm not attacking him, I'm expressing my opinion, perhaps you don't like the way i'm expressing it. But I don't really care what you think of my tone. I only adjust my tone for PUTM members, because non members are restricted. <g>
