Jozef,

So it sound like you open the project, BUILD it, test the app (as an EXE outside VFP?), restart VFP, open the project, make some mods, (re)BUILD the project and you get a hang, correct?

Have you used the Task Manager (before reBUILD or after "hang") to check if the app EXE is still showing active? If so (it is there) I wonder if the hang will end if you stop the task?

Using VFP7 I had something similar but NO HANG - it just stopped at end of build telling me that there was an access violation and it couldn't write the EXE. I found that it *was* listed in the Task Manager even though it had apparently ended normally.

good luck

>In meantime I found more direct reason of this hanging. VFP8 hangs while "buid app ..." command because old app file is still open so it can not be deleted.
>I tried different clear and close commands to close the app file - without results. Simply after several starting and ending cycles of my application VFP does not close the app file. Sometimes this happens after first exit from my application sometimes after "n" exit.
