"Export limitations" as if this technology was developed in the United States.

As warfare becomes more and more about advanced technology, there is an open question here:

Will the "world's greatest military power" become increasingly dependent on Pacific Rim technologies?"

Imagine the Chinese building a trapdoor into a cruise missile guidance chip that would cause the missile to self-destruct before it could attack a target in China.

Or, alternatively, sea-skimming cruise missiles built in China that can sink US aircraft carriers.
