Well it's like a one time thing. I received the MDB file via email. I can read it using Access fine.Is it possible to just export it to a dbf using Access?

>Besides the connection string and SQL Pass-through method that Yuri and JC mentioned, you can set up a named ODBC data source, create a vFP DBC, then add a connection to your data source and create remote views to your MDB. Then you can use the views in much the same way as VFP tables. You can also skip the data source and set up your connection with a connection string (use the Connection Designer).
