If you're using a single object to display the text of the letter and the name (and you probably are so that you don't get extra space after the name), then there's not a lot you can do. You can use an RTF control, which is tricky (and not something I've done) or you can do as you suggest and generate HTML. I'm not sure how you intend to display the HTML. You'd have to bring up a browser control, and display it in that.
