I like the no-nonsense approach of just not initialising.
But there may be "legitimate" reasons to overwrite the base class
method with nothing but an extended method signature and a
return dodefault(list of oldparms)
not the thing to do on a regular basis in VFP,
but a common practice in other languages like java and c#.
I think David's approach is great for builders, but in your case you want to make sure a behaviour change is checked: This is what you originally asked for.
