We have just converted our application from VFP 5.0 to VFP 7.0 and are in the process of converting our users to the new application (running Fox 7). We have been experiencing problems with our Win 95 clients. After saving data to the database, sometimes a particular pc will cause a file lock on the tables currently open in the database. In our save routine, we have transaction and rollback code wrapped around writing to a table in our database. When this lock occurs, it causes problems for other users who are trying to write to these tables. We are able to track down the pc that has the file locks through WinNT admin and have a work around when this occurs.
The work around is - go to the pc that has the lock, back out of the application. This releases the lock / hang. We then have to reboot the pc to prevent the lock from happening when we go back into the application.

Has anyone seen this before? Is it specific to Fox 7 or Win 95 or the combination of the two?

The only change that we have made to the application is the addition of an Active X control for detecting a footpedal through the parallel port. Could the Active X control be causing the problems?

Your thoughts / ideas would be appreciated.
