>>>>>>You can install and use VFP8 on the PC with previous versions of VFP w/o any problem. However EULA requires you to remove any previous version of VFP that were used as a base for upgrade to VFP8.

>>>As long as VFP7 was *the* one used to upgrade to VFP8 I don't think VFP6 figures in this, Fred.
>>>VFP7 had no such qualification in its EULA.

>>I have no idea what's in the VFP 7 Eula. But it may be an area open to interpretation from what I've read here. Sounds like any upgrade version invalidates the use of any previous version. Who knows how it can be "interpreted"?
>
>Here's the pertinent part of the VFP7 EULA, Fred, which as you say is subject to interpretation: "A SOFTWARE PRODUCT labeled as an upgrade replaces and/or supplements the product that formed the basis for your eligibility for the upgrade. You may use the resulting upgraded product only in accordance with the terms of this EULA.".
>
>To me it's the "...and/or supplements..." that is the key difference.

Your answer is as good as any to me, Jim. All I know is it's never a good idea to get into a pissing contest with a lawyer over something that can be "interpreted". You know who usually wins those contests.
