Thanks. I think I am missing something. I wrote the following code in the click event of the command button

oBrowse = CREATEOBJECT("GRID")
oBrowse.Column1.Backcolor = RGB(192,192,192)
BROWSE NAME oBroswe IN WINDDOW (THISFORM.NAME)

Still it it not changing the background colour of the column. Wtat else do I need to do?
