Another approach and the one that I use is to assign llOK to such a value to indicate it is a local variable of type logic. I have been doing this for so many years I do not even think of it anymore. The behavior you described is what I expect VFP will do.
Our job is to understand how VFP handles these things. In fact I use this in VB and VB.NET. Old habits die hard!
