How lame is that!! So all the tools everyone raves about are not available unless you host your own server!!! oh well
>Bonnie,
>You'll have the best luck with ISPs if you create a simple InstallShield setup that does all of the registration of files and explain to them that it's just an ASP component (which it is) like SA-FileUp (something they'd be familiar with). If they still have a problem with that, then what Brian said is true, you'll need either a dedicated computer at the ISP or you'll need to host in-house. I've found DSL lines to be good for moderate traffic...
>>I'm just beginning to work with COM objects contained on an ASP page. It sounds like I have to register the dll in order to use in on my ASP page. That's fine on my development machine (I'm using Frontpage to create my ASP pages), but what about the eventual server? How do I get my dll to run on a server where I only have access to my little host area?
