MS doesn't want anyone else to know about VFP! Where do you think all the rumors about the demise of VFP have been coming from for years? MS! I would bet money MS purposely leaked the rumors to discourage companies from using or continuing to use VFP. They want as little companies to know about VFP as possible in order to sell SQL Server. It's all about money - quoted from a news article posted here today:
IBM charges $99 for each additional user of DB2 Express. For 50 users, the database system would run up a price tag of $5,449, compared with $7,967 for SQL Server. Why would MS want to sell a VFP box for $650.00 to a developer that can create any number of applications for 50 plus users when they charge one company with 50 users $7,967.00?
MS will NEVER PROMOTE VFP to anyone other than VFP developers.
Hell, if MS were ever to market VFP like they market .NET I'd pay $5000.00 for VFP. The increase in demand for developers would certainly outweight the increase in price.
>My understanding that the latest version of ASP.NET Web Matrix is due out soon, and Jet .MDB suport was added. But not VFP8.

>I think that a way for MS to make ASP.NET more attractive to VFP developers is to actually give them a path to use the new - and free - stuff.

>I also think including support for (and including the download of) the VFPOLEDB driver would expose this awesome ISAM database to a larger audience that doesn't know what it's missing, maybe driving VFP8 sales as well.
