Hi Jim,
I've tried every possible way to easely solve it with an inputmask. However, I ended up in writing a class which checks the input of every keystroke and adds a X when entering the extension number automatically
Also be ware that some areas use a 1 prefix to indicate that you want to call someone from outside a certain region 1(999) 999-9999.
And of course you'll have to deal with a situation where the user wants to enter a foreign (non - north american) phonenumber.
Time to let the students write their own phonenumber class.

>I'm sitting here teaching a VFP class and I got stumped by a question!!! How does one add an "X" for phone extension in a phone number input mask? We tried "(999) 999-9999 X999" but the X keeps getting intepreted as the alphanumeric placeholder in the mask.
