I wondered if there a solution to the problem than we can't do selects on buffered data other than calculating initial values and adding/subtracting changes? That sure would be useful.

One trick that Andy and I used to use was to start a transaction, issue a tableupdate(), run the sql select, and then rollback the transaction aftwerward.

It's sneaky, but it works < s >.
