I have just tried it out on my PC and it works OK, with no dialogue arising from the navigate(). We must be set up differently somehow. I am using VFP 7.0 on a PC running Windows XP SP1 and Internet Explorer 6.0.2.8 SP1. Perhaps it has something to do with file associations.

In the past I have used

oShell=CREATEOBJECT('WScript.Shell')
oShell.Run(lcFileName)

to view such things, which has the added advantage of coping with every type of file the PC can handle. The IE solution could really do with work so as to cope with different picture dimensions.
