Sorry, Could not connect to net in last couple of days.

You should execute the command like:
dataconn.execute "SET DATEFORMAT YMD"
or
dataconn.execute "SET DATEFORMAT DMY"
or
dataconn.execute "SET DATEFORMAT MDY"
