What programming language is the double precision number coming from? If it's C/C++ and you have access to VC++ there's two sample projects over on my website showing how to write a DLL in C++ and call it from VFP.

Other than that if you specify the exact binary representation being used we can come up with some VFP code that will convert the value, it'll be a lot slower but it should be ok unless you are wanting to convert millions of values.
