"No longer supported" - interesting. I forgot to mention that (in previous versions) NetBEUI is actually simpler to install, IIRC, because you just install the protocol - and don't need to worry about IP numbers. But I would still recommend TCP/IP.
NetBEUI has no support for Layer 3 of the ISO-OSI network model - which basically means, you can't connect different LANs amongst themselves.
