My comments were about MTDLL vs. EXE in general, not particular about in ASP.NET. I'm not the right person to comment on what works best in ASP.NET, though, I'd use ASP.NET the way it was designed.

Each instance would load a copy of the runtime. Whether or not this happens upon each hit depends on the pool manager.
