I just ran a simple test in VFP 6.0, SP5. Changing the value updated the enabled status of the button from the InterActiveChange Event method just fine.

I vaguely remember something about the Value property not updating on the InteractiveChange Event, and I think in some cases we programmed the LostFocus to be sure we got the results we wanted. The behavior of combo boxes has changed over the years with different versions of VFP. In fact, the history of the VFP combo would probably make an interesting series of articles.

I'd recommend checking to see if you're running Service Pack 5 for VFP 6.0. If not, download it and install it. It may fix this problem for you.
