John;

My brother played amateur rugby for the San Francisco team. We would host the New Zealand and Australian teams at local players homes to reduce expenses. The games were great and afterwards everyone would go to the local pup for a pint or two, with a game of darts. I cannot remember who won but the Guinness was great!

After a short while the Australian’s would be unconscious and the New Zealanders would be playing darts as if it was a normal day. Jet lag, rugby and Guinness will take a toll on anyone.

There were many injuries to the rugby players and one of the players was a medical doctor from General Hospital in the city. I asked him about players and injuries as I was concerned and his answer was, “If a player is hurt his mother will kiss it and make it better”! I saw some bad injuries!
