Kevin,

I don't know for sure, but I think that if you just buy C#, you're only getting the language and that's it. You have to compile stuff from a command line. You get no IDE. I've heard there are other IDE's around besides VS.NET that you can get, but I have no idea what they are or how much they cost. (Personally, I'd fork over the money and get the whole shebang, but that's just me). I guess this isn't much of an answer (and certainly not what you were hoping to hear), but maybe others have something more to add to this ..
