>All I really want/need is to continue to develop WinForms/WebForms in C# and Crystal, and compile to stand-alone EXE. Can I buy just those things without having to spend close to a grand?
I started with the Standard edition. It has the IDE, runtime, compilers, debuggers ect.
With the Standard C# you can compile at runtime but you need to compile Visual Basic source from the command line using VBC.EXE. And vise versa if you buy VB standard you need to compile C# from the command line using Csc.exe.
