>We have a VFP8.0 COM object that does some light automation with MSWord (Office XP). The exact same code works on XPPro/Office XP, W2K/Office2K, but does not on Windows 2003 Server/Office XP. It seems like a trust issue, or that Office XP, when installed on 2003 has a different public interface. The VFP COM+ component can instance Word (you will see it running in Task Manager), but gets an error ("Access is denied") on the line that does CreateObject("Word.Application")...... of course, nothing else works after that line of code.....

>Since Windows 2003 Server is essentially in "Lock-Down", I assume it's some privilege or trust situation that is not configured correctly. The VFP COM+ component is running as the local administrator account, being instanced via ASP.

Tom,
Did Office came preinstalled (like some brands do) ? If so it's security issue.
