>And thanks again for your input Gene, I thought I was losing my mind
yesterday. BTW, what is the difference between User DSN, System DSN, and
File DSN?
Sorry for the delay in the reply (the weekend and an ISP problem):
USER DSN:
This limits the ODBC connection only to the specific user logged on the
machine (Win95/NT).
SYSTEM DSN
All users that are using the machine (Win95/NT) have access to this ODBC
connection.
FILE DSN
I believe (I've never used it) that you may copy this ODBC connection
from computer to computer
and ALL users can use it. It is not computer or enduser specific.
For most purposes where the data is not 'top secret' you can use SYSTEM DSN.
I use USER DSN for accessing 'secret' data such as financial info, customer
lists, etc.
