There are lot of vendors who are supplying tools to do that and even some automation is also possible but there is a charge for that.

Say for eg I have to sms myself on 9821053938. MY Mobile Service Provider provides me email as 9821053938@bplmobile.com.

What i do to SMS is send a mail(Only Subject) through VFP is creating and object using CDONTS or MAPI and Send a mail to 9821053938@bplmobile.com.

This in fact sends an SMS to me.

I hope this reduces the cost and gives you new idea to solve your work.
